The steam in my Philips steam generator iron gets weaker
If the steam rate of your Philips steam generator iron is not as good as expected, please find out here what could be causing it.
There is a steam delay when pressing the steam button
A short delay is normal:
Press and release the steam button: after 2 seconds steam will be generated.
Press and hold the steam button: the steam rate will be on a continuous high level. You will hear a pumping sound that indicates that water is pumped into the heating element to generate steam.
Press the steam button quickly twice: the iron will be in auto steam. Press the steam button again to stop steaming.
A few seconds delay is normal
When your steam generator iron draws water from the tank, the cool water lowers the steam pressure for a few seconds (causing the steam to be temporarily weaker). This is normal behavior for any steam generator iron.
