My Philips PowerLife vacuum cleaner's suction power is low
If your Philips PowerLife vacuum cleaner's suction power is low, there might be an easy solution. Discover how to improve its performance.
In most cases loss of suction power is caused by the dustbag being full, but other causes can be an object being stuck in the nozzle, tube or hose or the EPA / HEPA exhaust filter or motor protection filter being dirty.
Make sure the suction power knob has been set to maximum suction power. If this doesn't help, follow the steps mentioned below to restore the suction power of the vacuum cleaner:
Make sure the dustbag is not full
Make sure the hose, tube and nozzle are not blocked by an object
Make sure the exhaust filter is clean
If the above checks have not yielded the cause, replace the dustbag, for in that case the pores of the dustbag are probably clogged with fine dust
When you use the vacuum cleaner to vacuum ashes, fine sand, lime, cement dust and similar substances, the pores of the dustbag become clogged. As a result, the dustbag-full indicator will indicate that the dustbag is full. Replace the disposable dustbag or empty the reusable dustbag, even if it is not full yet (see chapter 'Replacing/emptying the dustbag').
Only use Philips disposable dustbags or a Philips reusable dustbag with this appliance. Other dustbags might damage the motor of this appliance. Never reuse a disposable dustbag.
