The dust bag compartment of my Philips vacuum is very dirty
It is normal for your Philips vacuum cleaner's dust bag compartment to become slightly filthy. Discover how to keep your vacuum cleaner nice and clean.
It is normal for the dust bag compartment to become slightly dirty. If the compartment becomes very dirty, this may have several causes:
The dust bag is not installed properly
The dust bag is damaged
Check if the dust bag is installed properly or needs to be replaced. The cover cannot be closed if no dust bag has been inserted or if the cardboard tag of the dust bag is distorted.
Check if the dust bag is damaged. If the dust bag is torn, dirt will leak into the dust bag compartment and could damage the appliance. Replace a damaged dust bag as soon as possible.
More information on how to clean the filters and replace the dust bag can be found in the user manual.
When you use the vacuum cleaner to vacuum ashes, fine sand, lime, cement dust and similar substances, the pores of the dust bag become clogged. As a result, the dust bag-full indicator will indicate that the dust bag is full. Replace the disposable dust bag or empty the reusable dust bag, even if it is not full yet.
Only use Philips disposable dust bags or a Philips reusable dust bag with this appliance. Other dust bags might damage the motor of this appliance. Never reuse a disposable dust bag.
