Troubleshooting

I cannot close the cover of my Philips bagged vacuum cleaner

If you cannot close your Philips bagged vacuum cleaner's cover, there might be a simple cause and matching solution. Allow us to help you out.

Possible causes

Either there is no dust bag in the appliance or the dust bag has not been inserted properly. The cover can not be closed if no dust bag has been inserted or if the cardboard tag of the dust bag is distorted.

Solutions

  1. Check if the dust bag has been installed properly
  2. Check whether the cardboard tag of the dust bag is distorted; It should be flat to trigger the dust bag detector inside the vacuum cleaner.

IMPORTANT:

Only use Philips disposable dust bags or a Philips reusable dust bag with this appliance. Other dust bags might damage the motor of this appliance. Never reuse a disposable dust bag.

More information on how to clean the filters and replace the dust bag can be found in the user manual. If the above solution(s) did not help to solve your problem, please contact Philips Consumer Care.
