Designed to deliver

For a product to be truly green, every phase of its development should be sustainable. To work towards this ideal, we introduced our EcoDesign procedures in 1994 and have been following them ever since.

We have a longstanding commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our products, and that includes the way they’re used and what happens to them at the end of their life cycle.

Six ways to make a greener product

Our Philips Green Products are called green for a reason. They help to reduce costs, energy consumption and CO₂ emissions. In fact, we won’t call a product ‘Green’ unless it offers at least a 10% improvement in one or more of the Philips Green Focal Areas.

For example, many of our products deliver energy savings of up to 80%. Others are built from recycled material, or designed to be recycled at the end of their usable lives. And they’re all designed to deliver a lifetime of reliability.

But it’s not just about making our products and processes more environmentally focused. How you choose to use them also has a lasting effect on their carbon footprint.
