Troubleshooting

The descaling light of my Philips2000/2100/Xsmall does not switch off

Unplug your Philips 2000/2100/Xsmall espresso machine and switch it back ON, make it ready for use again.

How to make it ready for use again - model with a control dial

  1. Plug the machine back in
  2. Empty the drip tray
  3. Empty and rinse the water tank, then fill it with fresh water up to the MAX level
  4. Turn ON the machine. The machine will start the automatic rinse cycle
  5. Place a container under the steam/hot water dispensing spout
  6. Turn the control dial to the HOT WATER position and dispense about 300 ml of water
  7. Turn the control dial back to the central BEAN position
  8. Place the container under the coffee dispensing spout
  9. Press the COFFEE button to brew a long coffee
  10. Empty the container. The machine is ready to brew a coffee
  11. When the orange DESCALING light is still on after making it ready for use again. You need to perform another time the descaling process from step one.

How to restart after unplugging - model with no control dial

  1. Plug the machine back in
  2. Empty the drip tray
  3. Empty and rinse the water tank, then fill it with fresh water up to the MAX level
  4. Turn ON the machine. The machine will start the automatic rinse cycle
  5. Place a container under the dispensing spout
  6. Press the ESPRESSO button to brew a coffee. Repeat this 2 and discard this coffee.
  7. Empty the container. The machine is ready to brew a coffee
  8. When the orange DESCALING light is still on after making it ready for use again. You need to perform another time the descaling process from step one.
